How a Commercial Lobster Boat Got New Life Here in NSB
Declan Rogers and his dad, Marty, wanted to bring a new experience to visitors and locals alike, so they bought Narwhal, a 24-foot Eastern, from a commercial fisherman on the Pamlico River. Her classic lines, open deck, and 9-foot beam make her truly unique.
She was a work boat and spent her time running crab traps, dragging oysters, and who knows what since her original build in New Hampshire.
The boat was rough: dinged and dented from a life on the water. They spent months fairing, sanding, painting, decking, and rewiring the boat from back to front with the help of Christian Hauer.
Today you can find Narwhal cruising Mosquito Lagoon and Ponce Inlet, carrying passengers instead of crab pots.
